In 1984 Andy Needham was hospitalized with trilobular pneumonia. He was dissatisfied with the hospital’s treatment plan but thought he had no alternative. His sister referred him to a health food store, and he believes  that saved his life.

Four years later, after much research into natural methods of maintaining and regaining health, on April 13 of 1988, Andy opened the first store and named it "Orbit Health".

Most independent health food stores have the same objective to help as many people as they can to reach and maintain optimal good health, with the best products and knowledge available.  This is Orbit’s goal as well! Andy’s personal objective is to have a holistic, clinical, yet open atmosphere, which incorporates all facets of natural, healthy lifestyles.

The store is centrally located on Old Hickory Boulevard in Lakewood, Tennessee (between Hermitage and Old Hickory) in a three story, historic building with over 9,000 square feet.  At last there is space to expand the vision!  HEALTH FOOD PRODUCTS,  MASSAGE THERAPY, REFLEXOLOGY, IRIDOLOGY,  REIKI HEALING, ION FOOT BATHS, ELECTRO-DERMAL SCREENING, NUTRIONAL BLOOD ANALYSIS & COLON HYDRO-THERAPY  are among the services that we offer!  There are also YOGA CLASSES on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
